The Australian Faith Community Nurses Association Incorporated is winding up as an Australian registered body after almost 30 years of service. Following a Special General Meeting of the board and members of AFCNA held on 22 January 2026, a special resolution was passed to close the association before 30 June 2026. We will close all operations effective 31st March 2026.
We are excited to add it doesn’t end there, because you will be able to continue to get educational and professional support from the Spiritual Care Association (SCA) which serves a global multidisciplinary membership to advance spiritual care. Australia will have an advisory group to support the ongoing vision of Faith Community Nursing via the Nursing division of SCA to promote Faith Community Care and spiritual care in our region. We thank you for your ongoing support and we trust you will join us in the next chapter and participate in the larger global network of the Spiritual Care Association.

- To be the lead professional association in Australia to educate, develop and support Faith Community Nurses to provide holistic nursing services to their faith community and the people that community serves.
- Advance Faith Community Care within Australian Christian faith communities, and prepare people to bring effective, compassionate care to the most vulnerable in their community.
