Events

In 2026 the Australian Faith Community Nurses Association became a part of the Spiritual Care Association – Nursing Division

Previously AFCNA offers regular events that enable you to connect and interact with your peers online! These included:

  • Community of Practice: We have a one hour online session to explore a theme relevant to Faith Community Care. These sessions focus on creating opportunities to interact with peers and share your ideas, communicate concerns, celebrate wins, and encourage and pray for one another. Everyone can participate and your registration is required to access a unique Zoom link for each event.
  • Web Workshops: Web workshops are 1-2 hour interactive, skills-based learning opportunities. They are facilitated by a person with expertise or experience in the topic to be discussed. Numbers are limited to 12 participants to ensure everyone can participate so your registration is required and you should be quick to reserve a place for these terrific learning opportunities.
  • Explore sessions: These one hour Zoom sessions are open to any interested person. They provide a 30 minute explanation of Faith Community Care and Faith Community Nursing with examples of these ministries in action. They close with a 20 min Q & A with experienced Faith Community Nurses and/or Care Coordinators. Registration is required to be provided with the unique Zoom link.

We also offered:

  • Online learning: The AFCNA Education Hub provides a variety of learning opportunities using professionals and people with lived experience who provide contemporary information and examples that inform compassionate Faith Community Care. This learning may be provided free, for a donation, or for an affordable course fee in the case of longer courses. Registration is always required.
